Hello from Scotland! We are having a wonderful, fun, challenging and very spiritual mission so far. We have never been closer to each other. The picture above was at the Feast and Fast fireside put on by our Perth branch in April. About 50 people attended. They had amazing food cooked by a member from the Philippines. Gonna miss her cooking! And then a fireside to kick off the fast with wonderful talks about missionary work and Jesus Christ. It was so good!

Since our last blog we had a new addition to our family, our 11th grandchild, Ledger Jeffrey Meigs! Born March 22nd, 2025. Yeah for Ledger. He is a sweet baby and everyone, and I mean everyone, just adores him. You can see why!

Glamis Castle + Highland Coos

On one of our preparation days we went to Glamis Castle. Still lived in by nobility from centuries back, it is a beautiful site. We were not allowed interior pictures for security reasons, but had a great time with our fellow Senior Missionaries.

Jackie fell in love with the Highland Coos (Cows in America) from the first day we arrived in Scotland. This was the first time we actually saw any in person. When we drove up to the castle and she saw them, she about jumped out of the car while we were still moving.  They definitely have character!

We were invited to sing in a Stake choir for a one night performance of The Lamb of God. A beautiful piece of music about the Cruxifiction and Resurrection of Christ. It was spiritually touching. Glen was asked to sing a solo (the part of Pontius Pilate).  It was really cool to do this music for members and friends as well. One non-member, the wife of a recently baptized man decided she wanted to be baptized after seeing the performance. So Amazing!

Our favorite part of the mission experience here is working with and supporting the young missionaries. Their dedication, love and the strength of their testimonies is awe inspiring. They go out every day and talk to people on the streets, knock on doors and stop by people's houses that have answered a Facebook ad or other Church promotions. They then teach those who want to learn more and challenge them to pray about the Gospel and to be baptized. They work so hard and are so full of joy! Last month the missionaries found 1,800 new friends in ONE WEEK throughout the Scotland/Ireland mission. Wow!

(We all wore black in honor of Sister Cox - 3rd from the right - going home after serving 18 months)

The landscape has come alive with color since the arrival of Spring. Deep greens, yellows, oranges and a variety of flowers are evidence of new life.  Thanks to Jackie for all these photos which she takes from our moving car as we are on the road, a lot!

A beautiful sunset in Dundee on the way home was also a cool treat.

A field of Rapeseed plants, grown for the Rapeseed oil. Stunning bright yellow color.

Orange blossoms on bushes on the hillsides are everywhere.

These are a shots of the West Bridge in Perth just yesterday. Postcard!

New Friends and Baptisms

We have attended several baptisms in the Dundee Stake and they are always very spiritual events. At the baptism of Franklin, we were asked to be witnesses. Another friend the missionaries are teaching was there, Ayo, and when he saw who was being baptized he was surprised to find one of his best friends, Franklin was the one being baptized. Ayo is also close to being baptized. Allen was baptized recently in Dundee. He is Chinese and is returning home to Hong Kong, having been here at the University of Dundee. The missionaries met him 3 weeks prior, taught him and baptized him before he left. He will join the saints in  Hong Kong and be a great strength to them.

We have also met some great new friends including a young mother of 3 boys from Slovakia. We visited her with the Sister Missionaries and gave her a blessing. She invited her cousin to come listen and they both had a lot of questions about God and Jesus Christ. The Sisters invited them to come to church and they both came last week with 2 of the children. It was fast Sunday, and the young 5 year old son wanted to bear his testimony. You could tell he was feeling the Holy Ghost and was connected to what was happening. One of the missionaries helped him and it was very sweet. After church both women said they did not want to leave and that they felt they were home. The mother is on date for baptism and the cousin is thinking about it. We told them we would be broadcasting the Dundee Stake Conference in our branch in Perth, but they asked if they could go to Dundee, which is about an hour bus ride. They want to be there in person.

It has been an honor to serve the missionaries and friends investigating the church by giving them blessings. The Spirit has been very strong and I can understand the will of the Lord for those I am blessing. It is so cool!

We want to assure you that all is well here and that we have strong testimonies of the Lord Jesus Christ, that He lives, and this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is His true church on the earth. The Book of Mormon is true scripture written by ancient prophets like the Bible, and it is true. We love you all and may the Lord bless you and your families.
