Hello Family & Friends!

We are still here and going strong. Living in Europe is awesome but not without its challenges. Driving on the left, strange street signs, cold and cloudy weather, and as the Genie in Aladdin would say "itty bitty living space". We still get a bit lost or take wrong turns driving cross town or to new places even when we use the GPS, but we are learning and it's a new adventure! Despite some of these issues, we are having a wonderful experience both on our side trips and in our missionary work.

We have met some fantastic people here. The Scottish people are very warm, friendly and polite.

One man we met is Mike. He is 82 years old and is just a ball of fire. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at age 78 after his wife of 53 years passed away. He was very depressed and missed her terribly. Through a miraculous meeting with a member of the Church, he was told he would be able to see her again. He joined the church, and then fell rather ill and was not able to participate in the church for some time. He is coming back now despite his continued health problems. He was hired to DJ a podcast recently and has taken up the fiddle. He also has a powerful testimony of Jesus Christ as the Son of God. Such a cool guy with a great spirit.

We are teaching some of the new and returning members here and it has been a very spiritual experience for us and them. We are also teaching the Gospel Principles class for Sunday school for those who are still learning the gospel in the Perth branch here that we attend. We spoke last Sunday in Sacrament meeting on the Attributes of Christ. We love sharing our knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Since our last blog we have been to Dunfermline, Dundee, Montrose more. The Abbey at Dunfermline was very cool. Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland crowned in 1306, is buried there and is Jackie's 19th great grandfather.

King Robert the Bruce was buried in the old Abbey in 1329, when rediscovered the remains were reinterred within the new church in 1889

For our 43rd anniversary on February 13th, we went to Edinburgh, toured the Edinburgh Castle, had a great pizza at the 3 Blind Mice restaurant downtown, and then saw Mary Poppins in the Festival Theater performed by a professional touring company that is playing all over Europe. What a great night!

The young missionaries here is Scotland/Ireland are incredible. They are all between the ages of 18-22 yrs old, hard working and dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ. They have a power and light about them that is an honor to be around. The missionary work here is continuing to grow, with hundreds of interested friends being found every week!

                  We got an "upgrade" from the missionaries for the Super Bowl. They are so much fun.

Scottish words of the month:

Fandabidozi = Fabulous

Burney = Hot...don't touch!

Hasteyeback = Hurry back

Pants = Rubbish or lousy weather

We love you all and love the Savior Jesus Christ. We testify that He lives! (Can't help the religious stuff, it's what we do all day here.)
